Authenticity Guarantee
At Antique Jewelry Finds, authenticity is not a promise — it is a process.
Every piece in our collection is individually examined by Jean, a trained jewelry expert with qualifications in gemmology and antique jewelry, and over 10 years of experience in the international buying and selling of jewelry and precious stones, across both B2B and B2C markets.
Our Authentication Process
Our authentication process covers every aspect of a piece before it is offered for sale:
Verification of period and style (1800–1990) through multiple methods, including analysis of metal composition and consistency with the supposed era, study of craftsmanship, mounting techniques, and types of settings, and examination of gemstone coherence.
Hallmarks and metal stamps — the eagle's head for 18k gold, the dog's head for platinum, the scallop shell for 14k gold — are systematically verified against our extensive archives and historical registers. For pieces over 100 years old, these marks often allow us to identify the original manufacturer, their address, and the exact production period.
Maker's marks, where present, are traced and documented to establish provenance and confirm authenticity.
Gemstone Analysis
We carefully examine every gemstone for inclusions and possible treatments, weight, quality, and overall characteristics. When the piece warrants it, we collaborate with recognised gemological laboratories — including Bellerophon, SSEF, GRS, LFG — to obtain independent certification.
Condition Assessment
Every piece is assessed for overall condition to ensure it reflects normal wear appropriate for its age, and that any repairs required have been properly and professionally carried out. Pieces that do not meet our standards are not offered for sale.
Certificate of Authenticity
Every piece ships with a written certificate of authenticity detailing the period, precious metal content, gemstone specifications, and any relevant hallmarks or maker's marks.
